PhD, Professional Doctorates, Master’s of Arts by Research, and Master’s of Science by Research scholarships are offered in the School of Arts and Humanities, University of Huddersfield, for an October 2026 start. The scholarship gives those selected access to a full tuition waiver for their research degree, as well as additional funds to attend national and international conferences to disseminate and publish their research.

- Open to home applicants only.
- Applicants must have an upper-class degree or above in a related field, or be in line for this award in the 2026 summer examinations.
Interview date, Process and Venue for University of Huddersfield Arts and Humanities Research Scholarships Postgraduate Scholarship
- Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by the 29 June 2026, and invited to attend a Teams interview during the week beginning 6 July 2026. After interview the most outstanding applicants will be offered a scholarship.

You must submit your application to [email protected] in full by Sunday 21 June 2026, including the following documents:
- Please submit a short email outlining:
- why you wish to apply for the scholarship;
- the subject area you are applying to;
- why you would like to study at the University of Huddersfield;
- why your chosen subject area at Huddersfield is the right fit for your research project.
- A research proposal – Guidance on writing a proposal can be found by following this link.
- A full CV.
- Provide copies of transcripts and certificates of all relevant academic and/or any professional qualifications.
- Provide references from two individuals – please contact your referees and ask them to send your reference directly to [email protected] from their email address (references can be submitted after other materials, but must be received by 1 July 2026) .
- Proof of eligibility – e.g. scan of passport photo page.
