University of Laval Excellence Scholarship Program 2027

The Ministry of Higher Education (MES) offers scholarships to international students for Master's or Doctoral studies, postdoctoral internships and for short research or professional development stays. These excellence scholarships aim to support the internationalization of research activities in Quebec's higher education institutions in order to attract the best international students. This program, administered by the Fonds québécois de la recherche sur la nature et les technologies (FRQNT), is divided into four components.

University of Laval Excellence Scholarship Program Postgraduate Scholarship

Aim and Benefits of University of Laval Excellence Scholarship Program Postgraduate Scholarship

• Master's scholarships worth $20,000 per year for a maximum duration of 2 years.
• Doctoral scholarships worth $25,000 per year for a maximum duration of 4 years.
• Postdoctoral fellowships worth $35,000 for one year , non-renewable.
• Scholarships for university students or researchers worth $3,000 per month for a maximum period of 4 months.

Interview date, Process and Venue for University of Laval Excellence Scholarship Program Postgraduate Scholarship

• For this scholarship program, only candidates pre-selected by a Quebec university will be invited by the organization to participate in the final competition. The results of the internal competition will be communicated to you towards the end of September.
• The submission of an application for pre-selection must be supported by a member of the faculty who agrees to host the applicant and supervise their work.
• The deadline for pre-selection by Laval University is June 17, 2026 .
