University of Leeds Undergraduate Scholarship
Aim and Benefits of University of Leeds Undergraduate Scholarship
- The University of Leeds offer up to 500 scholarships, worth either £3,000, £6,000 or £16,000 available to support eligible international students.
Requirements for University of Leeds Undergraduate Scholarship Qualification
To apply for an International Excellence Scholarship, you must:
- be classified as an international student for fee purposes;
- have a conditional or unconditional offer for an eligible undergraduate course starting in September 2026;
- be self-funded or partially funded;
- be entering into Year 1 of your undergraduate course;
- demonstrate an excellent academic track record evidenced through your high school qualifications;
- show excellent personal skills evidenced through extracurricular activities;
- in your application, explain why you’re applying to study at the University of Leeds and how it fits your future ambitions and goals.
Leeds International Study Centre students
- Students who study on the International Year One at the Leeds International Study Centre are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.

You will only be able to apply for this scholarship once you have a conditional or unconditional offer for an undergraduate course. If you have an offer for multiple courses at the University of Leeds, you will need to submit a separate scholarship application for each course.
To apply, you will need to complete the application form, which will take around 15 minutes to complete. You will not be able to save your progress, so make sure you have all the information ready before you begin.
To be considered for this scholarship you must have applied to the University via UCAS.
Make sure you have your:
- UCAS personal ID – this can be found on the UCAS application hub
- UCAS course code and course title – this is also available on the UCAS application hub
- 100-word (600 characters, including spaces) personal statement explaining why you have chosen to study at Leeds and why you believe you should be considered for the scholarship.
- This could include previous internship or volunteering experience, and awards.
