The Faculty of Science and Engineering is proud to offer scholarships to students from selected countries starting their studies with us in 2025.

The Science and Engineering International Excellence Awards are open to fee-paying undergraduate students from Bangladesh, Botswana, Egypt, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, Vietnam, Zimbabwe.

About University of Manchester

The University of Manchester, in its present form, was created in 2004 by the amalgamation of the Victoria University of Manchester and the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST). After 100 hundred years of working closely together both institutions agreed to form a single university, and on 22 October 2004 they officially combined to form the largest single-site university in the UK. There are 21 awards for £5,000 per year of study (up to four years), awarded to the highest performing applications.

Requirements for Science and Engineering International Excellence Awards Qualification

To be considered, you need to:

  • Be an international fee-paying, self-funded student from one of the countries listed above;
  • Hold an offer of a place for a full-time undergraduate course in the Faculty of Science and Engineering;
  • Have accepted this offer and made The University of Manchester your firm choice on UCAS by the end of June;
  • Maintain a 60% average performance each year of your degree;
  • Ensure you're fully registered on the degree course as a new student.

How to Apply

There'll be no separate application form. All eligible international students who hold an offer of a place within the Faculty of Science and Engineering will automatically be considered for a scholarship.
