The name 'Narrm' is the Woi-wurrung word for the Melbourne region meaning ‘place’, and reflects the University's commitment to creating a community where students can feel safe and find a sense of belonging, connect with their peers, and participate fully in university life.
The Narrm Scholarship is offered to both domestic students who are enrolling an undergraduate degree and are experiencing disadvantaged circumstances, and Indigenous students who are enrolling in an undergraduate degree.
Disadvantaged circumstances include living in a low socio-economic area , receiving Commonwealth income support, having a disability or medical condition, or experiencing personal difficulties.

All Narrm Scholars have access to the Narrm Scholars Enrichment Program, an exclusive program to support students to transition to and succeed at university.
The living allowance will be extended by one year if students enrol in the Diploma of General Studies, Bachelor (Extended), a concurrent diploma or bachelor degree with honours.

The value of the allowance is up to $20,000 per year for students living at approved University accommodation and $10,000 per year for students living at University residential colleges. A limited number of scholarships is offered to other students ranked highest based on their overall level of disadvantage based on the information provided in their VTAC SEAS application.
This scholarship is subject to the Coursework Scholarships Terms and Conditions and can be deferred to the following academic year.
In addition, students must agree to give permission for the University to provide their name and course details to the donor of their scholarship and to provide a brief report on the benefits of the scholarship if requested.

You are automatically considered if you have applied for admission to the University via VTAC Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS).
Scholarship offers are made shortly after the Victorian Year 12 ATAR are released in December. Further offers are made from December onwards to students who have completed IB or Year 12 at a school outside Victoria.
