International Volunteer Scholarship

Our Volunteer Scholarship program recognizes students with an exemplary academic record based on a combination of GPA and test scores.

Incoming first-year international students (Non-resident visa holder who will not graduate from a US high school) with a minimum 3.8 GPA* who apply for admission by May 1 of their final year in high school will be automatically considered for these institutional scholarships. New test scores to determine eligibility for the Volunteer Scholarship are due by July 1, 2023. You must matriculate the fall semester immediately following your high school graduation. International students who reside in the United States and will graduate from a US high school should refer to the in-state and out-of-state scholarships webpage.

  • The successful applicants of the University of Tennessee - International Undergraduate Merit Scholarships in the US, 2023 will receive $10,000 to $15,000 and $1800

Requirements for University of Tennessee Bachelors Qualification

  • The candidates applying for the University of Tennessee - International Undergraduate Merit Scholarships (IUMS) in the US, in 2023 must not be dual citizens or permanent residents of the US.
  • The applicants must be international students.
  • The candidates should fulfill any of the following criteria:
    • The students are expected to be finishing high school in the US or a foreign country.
    • The candidates must have completed or should be completing an associate’s degree from an accredited US college.
    • The applicants for the University of Tennessee - International Undergraduate Merit Scholarships (IUMS) in the US, 2023 must be entering the University of Tennessee directly from a foreign or US university.
  • The freshmen should have a GPA of 3.5/4.0, IELTS 6.5 or higher, and TOEFL (iBT) 78 or higher.
  • The transfer students are expected to have a GPA of 3.0/4.0, IELTS 6.5 or higher, or at least grade B on the University-level equivalent of English composition 1 and 2 at a US college or university, and TOEFL (iBT) 78 or higher.
