Derek E. Brown Pre-Med Award

Aim and Benefits of Derek E. Brown Pre-Med Award

This scholarship will grant up to six recent UVA African American/Black undergraduate alumni (class of 2020–2025) with $3,000 awards each to defray the high cost of applying to medical or dental school. Recipients may use the awards to cover costs associated with applying to medical or dental schools.

Requirements for Derek E. Brown Pre-Med Award Qualification

To be eligible to receive this award, applicants must:

• Be a recent undergraduate alum of the University of Virginia (no more than 5 years removed)
• Be actively applying to medical or dental school programs
