VUW 2025 Barbara Finlayson Scholarship

The scholarship is awarded annually to a New Zealand School of Music (NZSM) violin, viola and violoncello student enrolling in their first year of study with NZSM. The scholarship aims to support students in their first year of university.

Aim and Benefits of Barbara Finlayson Scholarship

Up to $5,000 (subject to funds available) and may be divided by the committee

Requirements for Barbara Finlayson Scholarship Qualification

Applicants must be violin, viola or violoncello students, intending to enrol at NZSM in the year following their application. The scholarship is available to both domestic and international students.

Interview date, Process and Venue for Barbara Finlayson Scholarship

• Applicants must be violin, viola or violoncello students intending to enrol full time at the NZSM at Victoria University of Wellington
• Selection is based on academic achievement and demonstrated musical ability.
