WAAW Foundation Scholarship enables female college students in Africa to pursue their studies in a STEM-related course. With this scholarship, you are free to focus on achieving your academic goal and volunteer to give back to your community and promote the engagement of women in STEM through the STEM Outreach Chapter at their university. We are looking for scholars that show a need, have the passion, and drive to make a difference in their community. WAAW (Working to Advance Science and Technology Education for African Women) Foundation is an international non-profit organization founded in 2007. Headquartered in Lagos Nigeria with offices in Abuja Nigeria, Kigali Rwanda and Allen Texas.

Aim and Benefits of Undergraduate Scholarship

• The WAAW Foundation scholarship is a one-time award of $500.
• The WAAW Scholarship Program supports young African women pursuing STEM education at  undergraduate level.

Requirements for Undergraduate Scholarship Qualification

• Female students of African origin, living and studying in Africa.
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program.
• Studying STEM-related courses in a University or college in Africa.
• Presently a first or second year student or a third-year student for a 5-year course in a University.
• Ability to demonstrate financial need
• Excellent Academic Record.
• Proven leadership, volunteering, and community service
• Below the age of 32 years.

The chances of winning the WAAW Foundation scholarship depend on the strength of your application. However, the scholarship is highly competitive, so it is important to submit a well-written application that highlights your academic achievements, leadership skills, and commitment to STEM.

Documents Required for Application

• 2 Reference Letter to be submitted by your referees.
• 1 signed and sealed copy of your current transcript from your University.
• 1 scanned copy of your school ID card.
