Requirements for Wuhan University International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship Qualification

1. ELIGIBILITY

• Non-Chinese citizens;
• Should be friendly to China, have no criminal record, and abide by the laws and regulations of the Chinese government and the rules and regulations of the school;
• In good physical and mental conditions, and with a good record of academic performance and conduct;
• Aspiring to work in the Chinese language education and related fields;
• Between the ages of 16 and 35 (as of September 1st, 2024). Applicants currently working as Chinese language teachers should not be over 45.

2. PROGRAMS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Scholarship for One-Semester Study Program
  • The program commences in September 2024, and provides scholarship of a maximum of five months. Applicants of Chinese Language program shall have HSK test record, and priority goes to applicants with HSKK test score.
• Scholarship for One-Academic-Year Study Program
  • The program commences in September 2024, and the scholarship is provided for a maximum of eleven months. Applicants of Chinese language study programs shall have a minimum score of 210 on the HSK test (Level 3), and priority will be given to applicants who provide an HSKK test score.

 

 

Interview date, Process and Venue for Wuhan University International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship

ASSESSMENT AND ADMISSION

Wuhan University will review application documents and organize interviews for applicants. CLEC will entrust an expert panel to review the applications. Decisions will be based on HSK and HSKK levels and scores, geographical distribution, and other factors. The results will be published about three months before the program starts.

POLICIES REGARDING IN-SERVICE CHINESE LANGUAGE TEACHERS AND CHINESE BRIDGE WINNERS

• In-Service Chinese Language Teachers
  • In-service Chinese language teachers, providing proof of employment and a letter of recommendation from the employer, will be given admission priority .
• Chinese Bridge Winners
  • Applicants who have received the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship Certificate during Chinese Bridge competitions may submit their application documents along with their scholarship certificates to the Host Institutions directly at the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship website.

Documents Required for Application

1. For all applicants:
   1. A scanned copy of passport photo page;
   2. A scanned copy of score reports of the HSK and HSKK tests (within the two-year validity);
   3. A reference letter by the head of the recommending institutions.
2. In-service Chinese language teachers shall provide proof of employment and a reference letter from the employer.
3. Applicants under 18 shall provide certified documents of designation signed by their entrusted legal guardians in China.

1. Online registration will be available from 1 March, 2024. Please submit application on the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship application website (http://cis.chinese.cn) and Wuhan University online application website (http://admission.whu.edu.cn).

2. Application deadlines (Beijing time):

For programs commencing in September 2024, applicants must complete their applications by 5 May, 2024.
