YALI 2020 Africa Alumni Marketplace for RLC Alumni

Forty select alumni will be invited to showcase their projects, products, or services to YALI Africa partners. This platform will present spaces for networking and collaboration for all who participate. Breakout sessions, lightning talks, a networking event, and an Expo are being planned for the two-day event. Alumni not present in-person will have an opportunity to engage and interact virtually with the event via YALI Africa social media platforms.

About Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI)

The Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) is a signature effort to invest in the next generation of African leaders. The need to invest in grooming strong, results-oriented leaders comes out of the statistics: nearly 1 in 3 Africans are between the ages of 10 and 24, and approximately 60% of Africa’s total population is below the age of 35. if you are selected to attend, event costs, travel, and accommodation will be covered by YALI Africa.


Requirements for YALI Africa Alumni Marketplace Qualification

  • RLC Alumnus must be from one of the 4 RLCs
  • Prioritized sectors are agriculture, circular economy, energy, health, education, technology, journalism, media, the arts, fashion, entertainment, and any other innovative ideas in social, governance and civil society
  • Applicants could be:
    • the owner of or play a leading role in a company, social enterprise, non-profit organization, community project, or advocacy group already making a difference in their communities, or
    • have started the project and its growth potential is demonstrable, or
    • have collaborated with the Government to bring about tangible change in the public space.

How to Apply

 If you would like to be considered to participate in the Marketplace, please complete the application form as per link, together with a video presentation by December 11th, 2020.
