Edge Hill University GREAT Scholarships 2026

In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, Edge Hill University is offering £10,000 scholarships to students in Nigeria, Ghana, and Turkey applying for one-year postgraduate courses in any subject.

Requirements for Edge Hill University Postgraduate Scholarship Qualification

Candidates must:

• Be a passport holder and resident of Ghana, Nigeria, or Turkey.
• Have received a conditional or unconditional offer to study a postgraduate taught programme at Edge Hill University for September 2026 entry.
• Hold a bachelor’s degree equivalent to a 2:1 or higher.
• Meet the English language requirement for the chosen programme at the time of scholarship application.
• Be a self-funded student.
• Not be a recipient of any other scholarship.
• only full-time, one-year, postgraduate taught programmes delivered at our Ormskirk campus are eligible for the award. For clarity, programmes delivered via our academic partners (either partially or wholly) are not eligible.

NOTE: Applications received after the deadline date and applications with no study offer by this deadline WILL NOT be considered for this scholarship. We strongly advise to submit an application to Edge Hill University no later than March 2026 so there is no delay with your student journey should you be successful in your scholarship application.

How to Apply

• Once you have received your offer to study on a full-time, postgraduate programme at Edge Hill University, you can apply for the British Council GREAT Scholarship by completing the application form.
• Applications will then be considered by an awarding panel. The panel will consist of representatives from Admissions, the International Office team, and the International Student Support Officer. The panel will assess the applications based on your responses given in the scholarship application. All panel members understand that applications will have a broad range of differing skills, attributes and experiences, and shortlisted applications may be asked to attend a video interview with the selection committee.
