University of Brescia STAR + LMINT Scholarships for Applicants from Non-EU Countries 2026/27

The University of Brescia for the Academic Year 2026/2027 issues a Call for the awarding of 17 scholarships to students holding a Degree obtained in a non-EU country.

1. STAR “Students at Risk”, 4 scholarships for students with nationality and with residence in a developing country or from the following countries defined as priority by the Italian Agency for Cooperation: Cuba, Egypt, El Salvador, Jordan, Iraq, Kenya, Lebanon, Tunisia and Palestinian territories for students who intend to enrol in a master's degree programme taught in English or Italian
2. LMINT n. 13 scholarship for students holding a bachelor’s degree of the minimum duration of three years, obtained in a non-EU country, and who intend to enrol in one master's degree programme taught in English

Aim and Benefits of University of Brescia Masters Scholarship

The scholarship amounts are as follows:

• STAR scholarships: €6,132.10
• LMINT scholarships: €5,060

Scholarships also include:

• exemption from university tuition fees, except for the regional tax for the right to study and the revenue stamp, which must be paid each year (in A.Y. 2025/2026 the total cost was €156.00);
• free reserved accommodation in university residences in a double room with shared facilities (a € 330 deposit is required; students who choose not to live in university housing receive no financial compensation);
• subsidized catering service;
• discounted public transportation pass;
• € 500 reserved for registration with the National Health Service or for purchasing the private health insurance policy prepared for UniBs international students (the amount will be reimbursed upon submission of payment receipts).

Requirements for University of Brescia Masters Scholarship Qualification

Candidates who have not yet obtained their undergraduate degree may still apply, provided they obtain it by 10 July 2026.

Requirements for STAR scholarships:

1. Residence and domicile in one of the countries listed;
2. Citizenship of one of the countries listed;
3. First-time enrolment in an Italian university;
4. A valid undergraduate degree that:
   • lasts at least three years;
   • grants access to postgraduate programs in the country where it was issued;
   • is comparable to QF-EHEA first cycle / EQF level 6;
   • is obtained in non-EU educational systems;
   • is issued by an institution authorized to award higher education degrees;
   • is suitable for admission to the chosen Master’s degree program;
5. For English-taught programs: English proficiency at CEFR B2 or completion of an undergraduate program taught in English;
6. A final grade of at least 80/100 or GPA 3.2/4.

Requirements for LMINT scholarships:

1. Residence and domicile in a non-EU country;
2. Citizenship of a non-EU country;
3. Age not exceeding 30 at the application deadline;
4. First-time enrollment in an Italian university;
5. A valid undergraduate degree that:
   • lasts at least three years;
   • grants access to postgraduate programs in the country where it was issued;
   • is comparable to QF-EHEA first cycle / EQF level 6;
   • is obtained in non-EU educational systems;
   • is issued by an institution authorized to award higher education degrees;
   • is suitable for admission to the chosen Master’s degree program;
6. English proficiency at CEFR B2 or completion of an undergraduate program taught in English;
7. A final grade of at least 80/100 or GPA 3.2/4.

Candidates applying for LMINT must pay a €20 fee via PagoPA.

To pay the application fee candidates must:

1. Click on VERIFICA

3. Choose “payment with credit card”
4. Pay

STAR applicants are exempt from payment.

Documents Required for Application

It is mandatory to fill out the following information: name, surname, gender, date of birth, country of birth, nationality, address, e-mail, telephone number.

Documents to be attached to the on-line application are the following:

1. Valid ID (preferably passport);
2. original certification attesting the qualification obtained. The certification must show: the name and level of the qualification, the final grade achieved, the minimum and maximum score that can be acquired, the year it was obtained, the name and address of the institution that issued the qualification, list of exams taken with scores and credits. Those who have not achieved the degree can attach original university enrolment certificate with list of exams. If the degree has not yet been obtained: certificate of enrollment with transcript;
3. Translation into Italian or English if the documents are not issued in one of these languages;
4. candidates interested in enrolling in a Master's Degrees in Italian must attach:
   • a certificate of knowledge of the Italian language not lower than the CEFR B2 level, issued by one of the bodies belonging to the CLIQ system or by the "Dante Alighieri" University of Reggio Calabria
   • OR pass the Italian proficiency test organized by the University of Brescia;
5. applicants interested in registering in master’s degree programmes in English who have NOT undertaken their study pathway in English must attach a certificate of proficiency in English (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL), of at least CEFR B2 level and acknowledge by the university (list available at https://www.unibs.it/en/education/useful-information/certifications-and-modules/languagecertificate);
6. CV (max 2 pages);
7. Optional but recommended: reference letter or referee contact.

The Commission may request additional documents or conduct an online interview.

Additional requirement for English-taught programs and Economics/Management programs: Candidates must complete a table mapping their undergraduate exams to required disciplinary areas.
