Flinders University Aurora Women in STEM Scholarship for Commencing Students 2024

The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to outstanding women who are commencing the first year of one of the Bachelor of Science courses and enrolling in PHYS1101 and PHYS1102 at Flinders University.

The scholarship has been established as a result of a generous donation from Associate Professor Maria Parappilly.

About Flinders University

Flinders University is a public university in Adelaide, South Australia. Founded in 1966, it was named in honour of navigator Matthew Flinders, who explored and surveyed the South Australian coastline in the early 19th century. Aim and Benefits of Aurora Women in STEM Scholarship for Commencing Students

There will be one scholarship of $1,000 awarded each year whilst funding is available.

Payment will be made in two instalments after the census date of each semester.


Requirements for Aurora Women in STEM Scholarship for Commencing Students Qualification

The scholarship recipient must

  • Be female; and
  • Be commencing the first year of one of the University’s Bachelor of Science courses; and
  • Be normally enrolled full time at Flinders University; and
  • Be enrolled in both PHYS1101 and PHYS1102; and
  • Have been admitted to course on the basis of an ATAR.

Scholarships are available to part-time students in exceptional circumstances, which includes (but is not limited to) disability, illness or carer responsibilities. Part-time scholarship recipients will receive the same annual value as full-time scholarship recipients.
