The goal of the Avant Foundation Doctor of Medicine Rural Placement Scholarship is to provide support to a final year student who is studying a Doctor of Medicine (MD) affected by different types of educational disadvantage (financial hardship, educational disruption, disability or others) and taking part in a rural placement.

Requirements for Avant Foundation Doctor of Medicine Rural Placement Scholarship Postgraduate Scholarship Qualification

To be eligible you must:

• be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, permanent humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen
• demonstrate educational disadvantage based on a comprehensive assessment by the University
• be enrolled in the final-year (Phase 3) of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program
• be taking part in a full year of Longlook (longitudinal clerkship) program as designated rural hospital in their final year of study – will be confirmed by the Medical Placements Team.

Please note: Students enrolled in Griffith University’s Toowoomba end-to-end rural medical program are not eligible for this award.
