UBC British Columbia Scholarship Society Indigenous Award
Aim and Benefits of UBC British Columbia Scholarship Society Indigenous Award
- Apprenticeship/Trades Training/Certificates/Diplomas ($1,000 - programs a minimum of 7 continuous weeks) ($2000 - programs over 12 continuous weeks)
- Undergraduate Degree ($3,000)
- Master’s/Doctoral Degrees ($5,000)
All are renewable in order to provide sustained funding over multiple years. Renewable awards of $5,000 per year are available.
Requirements for UBC British Columbia Scholarship Society Indigenous Award Qualification
They are available to students who identify as Indigenous, defined as First Nations (Status or Non-Status), Métis or Inuit.

Interested and qualified? Go to

- Create an account (or login, if you already have one) on the SM Apply website HERE and provide responses to a series of questions regarding your eligibility for an Award.
- If you are found to be eligible, you will automatically begin the application form. Your work is saved as you go and you may continue to edit the application form until you submit your fully completed application.
- New applicants must also provide confirmation of your Indigenous ancestry/identity. You may do this by uploading documentation such as a status/membership card, or by providing the email address of a Verifier at an Indigenous organization who will be asked to complete an online form confirming your Indigenous identity.
- Once you have completed all components on the online form, AND have a confirmation of Indigenous ancestry/identity, click “Submit”. (You will NOT be able to submit an application that is missing any supporting documentation.) Once you submit your application, you are no longer able to make edits.
- If you are unable to complete an application online, please contact the Society at 1-844-478-4645 to make alternate arrangements.
