The Esther Burns/Department of Education Country Teaching Scholarships have been established by the University of Adelaide in conjunction with the Department for Education. Funding for up to six scholarships has been provided by a bequest to the University from Esther Burns, a well respected teacher who taught at Port Augusta High School in 1968 and then Quorn Area School from 1970 until her retirement in 1976, with matching funds from the Department for Education.
