Applications are now open for the Flinders University 2025 Resthaven Indigenous Scholarship. A generous donation from Resthaven Inc has enabled the establishment of the Resthaven Indigenous Scholarship from 2017.
The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to Indigenous students and encourage a future workforce which has sensitive capability to meet the needs of older Australians regardless of their background or ethnicity.
Flinders University is a public university in Adelaide, South Australia. Founded in 1966, it was named in honour of navigator Matthew Flinders, who explored and surveyed the South Australian coastline in the early 19th century. Flinders is a verdant university[citation needed] and a member of the Innovative Research Universities (IRU) Group and ranks in the 10-16 bracket in Australia and 36th in the world of those established less than 50 years. Each scholarship will have a value of $2500 per annum for two years. One scholarship per year will be available subject to funding.

Selection Criteria
The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and demonstrated interest in aged care services and older Australians either through their studies or work experience.
Preference, in the first instance, will be given to undergraduate students studying in the following areas: design and technology innovation, nursing, nutrition and dietetics, speech pathology, social work, psychology or theology.
