Flinders University 2026 Rural Scholarship

The Rural Scholarship was established to support continuing students from regional South Australia to access higher education at an Adelaide-based campus. The funding is to support the study and additional living costs associated with living away from their regional home. This scholarship has been made possible by donations from the community members who want to remove barriers to education for students from regional South Australia.

Flinders University Undergraduate Scholarship

Aim and Benefits of Flinders University Undergraduate Scholarship

• One scholarship valued at $2,000 will be awarded annually, depending on funds available. The scholarship will be paid soon after the semester census date.

Requirements for Flinders University Undergraduate Scholarship Qualification

To be considered, applicants must:

• be Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia; and
• have a permanent home address in South Australia in an area classified as Inner or Outer Regional, Remote or Very Remote Australia as defined by the Australian Standard Geographic Classification (ASGC) classifications 3-5;
• be enrolled full-time* in an undergraduate course of study at Flinders University; and
• have relocated to undertake their study at an Adelaide-based campus; and
• be in the second or subsequent year of their course; and
• be in receipt of government means-tested benefits such as from Centrelink, or able to demonstrate financial hardship.

*Applications will be accepted from part-time students who have extenuating circumstances that prevent them from studying full-time (e.g. disabilities, carer responsibilities).

Interview date, Process and Venue for Flinders University Undergraduate Scholarship

• The scholarship will be awarded based on academic merit and ASGC remoteness classification. Selection will be made in accordance with procedures approved by the Director, Student Administration Services.
