The purpose of this scholarship is to support provide financial assistance to a high achieving woman commencing the honours year of the Bachelor of Science (Physics).
The scholarship has been established as a result of a generous donation from Associate Professor Maria Parappilly.
Flinders University is a public university in Adelaide, South Australia. Founded in 1966, it was named in honour of navigator Matthew Flinders, who explored and surveyed the South Australian coastline in the early 19th century. Each scholarship will have a value of $1,000 per annum paid in equal instalments after the census date of each semester. One scholarship will be available per year for the duration of the funding.

Scholarships are available to part-time students in exceptional circumstances, which includes (but is not limited to) disability, illness or carer responsibilities. Part-time scholarship recipients will receive the same annual value as full-time scholarship recipients.
The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of GPA in the third year of the Bachelor of Science (Physics). If there is more than one female sharing the highest GPA, results in specific topics will be taken into consideration.
Scholarship selection will be made in accordance with approved procedures.
