Flinders University Austin Taylor Indigenous NT Medical Program Scholarship 2026

Mr Austin Taylor, BEc Adel, Chartered Accountant (Fellow), Chair of FCD Health Limited and Council Member of Flinders University has a special interest in furthering the education and training of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as health professionals, particularly in the Northern Territory. The Austin Taylor Indigenous NT Medical Program Scholarship has been established to support the retention and successful graduation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students as health professionals. The scholarship is funded through Mr Austin Taylor’s contribution to the Karmel Endowment Fund.

Flinders University Undergraduate Scholarship

Aim and Benefits of Flinders University Undergraduate Scholarship

• Subject to the availability of funds, a minimum of one scholarship with a minimum value of $750 may be awarded each year.

Requirements for Flinders University Undergraduate Scholarship Qualification

Applicants must:

• be of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent; and
• identify as an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander; and
• be accepted as an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander by the community in which they live or have lived; and
• be enrolled as a student in the Flinders University Northern Territory Medical Program.

Interview date, Process and Venue for Flinders University Undergraduate Scholarship

• The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and financial need. 
• Selection of the candidate(s) will be made by the Student Affairs Committee of the School of Medicine in accordance with procedures approved by the Director, Academic and Student Services.
