Flinders University Leahurst Nurses' Foundation Bachelor of Midwifery Scholarship 2026

The Leahurst Nurses’ Foundation Scholarship has been established to provide financial support to students experiencing financial hardship, as a result of undertaking their final clinical placement in their undergraduate Bachelor of Midwifery degree. The scholarship is open to all students undertaking their final placement in the year of the scholarship.

• The scholarship is valued at $2,000 paid within two weeks of commencement of the final clinical placement.

Requirements for Flinders University Undergraduate Scholarship Qualification

Applicants for the scholarship must:

• be enrolled or enrolling in their final clinical placement of an undergraduate Bachelor of Midwifery degree at Flinders; and
• be able to demonstrate financial hardship and/or anticipated financial disadvantage as a result of undertaking the placement; and
• have a GPA of 4.5 or above; and
• not be in receipt of a similar scholarship for the same placement.

The scholarship is open to all students undertaking their final placement in the year of the scholarship. Applicants can apply even if the details of their final placement have not yet been confirmed (placements for some students won’t be confirmed until after the scholarship closing date).

Interview date, Process and Venue for Flinders University Undergraduate Scholarship

• The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of financial need and academic merit.
• Selection of the candidate(s) will be made by a panel which will include representatives from the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
• The scholarship is awarded at the discretion of the selection panel. There is no obligation to offer the scholarship in any given year, should there not be a suitable applicant.
