About Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC)

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) is the state oil corporation which was ?established on April 1, 1977. In addition to its exploration activities, the Corporation was given powers and operational interests in refining, petrochemicals and products transportation as well as marketing. Between 1978 and 1989, NNPC constructed refineries in Warri, Kaduna and Port Harcourt and took over the 35,000-barrel Shell Refinery established in Port Harcourt in 1965. This scholarship will cover tuition, one economy return flights ticket from Nigeria to the UK, and a contribution towards living expenses only

Requirements for NNPC/RENAISSANCE JV Niger Delta Post-Graduate Scholarship Scheme Qualification

Applicants must:

• Have been offered admission to study on one of the Eligible Courses at the College having applied through the normal application process;
• Display intellectual ability and leadership potential;
• Have an adequate standard of English (at least 6.5 in IELTS) and meet the College’s language requirement.
• Already hold (or expect to hold by the time of taking up the Scholarship) a degree of an equivalent standard to a UK Upper Second Class Honours degree
• Must have completed their National Youth Service by September 2025
• Be ordinarily resident in the Rivers, Imo, Delta or Bayelsa State of Nigeria, and who intend to return to Nigeria at the end of the period of study
• Have not already had the chance of studying in the UK or other developed country.
• Be aged between 21-28 years by 30/09/2025.
• Currently reside in Nigeria
• Plan to return to Nigeria on completion of the proposed programme of study.
• Have a Nigerian international passport valid till December 2026
• Not be Employees, employees’ relatives (or former employees who have left employment less than 5 years before) of Renaissance Africa Energy Company or the College will not be eligible to apply for the Scholarships.

Interview date, Process and Venue for NNPC/RENAISSANCE JV Niger Delta Post-Graduate Scholarship Scheme

Eligible candidates will be shortlisted for interviews conducted by Renaissance, and final award decisions will be made thereafter. While employment at Renaissance post-study is not guaranteed, scholars are encouraged to apply for roles upon completing their program.

The University will process applications and select candidates who will attend interviews with Renaissance before being considered for final selection.
