Queen Mary MABECS Outstanding Achievement Award 2025

Queen Mary University of London, in partnership with MABECS, is pleased to offer two full fee scholarships to outstanding Malaysian postgraduate taught master's students for the 2025/26 academic year.

This scholarship is established in memory of Mr David Guard, honouring his remarkable kindness, his ability to inspire others, and his dedication to philanthropy. His legacy of selfless service and support for others will be forever commemorated through this scholarship. Our sincere thanks go to MABECS for their collaboration in making this opportunity possible.

The scholarship will be awarded to two high-achieving students commencing their studies in September 2025/26. Please note that it is not possible to defer the scholarship.

Requirements for Queen Mary MABECS Outstanding Achievement Award Qualification

Please note that students already registered and studying on a programme at Queen Mary University of London are not eligible for this award. These scholarships are only available for students who enrol in MSc Economics, MSc Finance, or an LLM programme at Queen Mary.

• You should have an excellent academic background. Candidates should have,or be expecting, a 2.1 in a bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Have received and accepted an offer for MSc Economics, MSc Finance, or an LLM programme starting September 2025 inLondon.Meet any academic conditions.
• Be classified by the University as an overseas fee payer for tuition fee purposes and be able to pay any outstanding fees not covered by the scholarship.
• Be expected to cover their own living costs and other expenses, including visa application fees, IHS, and more.
• Start their studies at the University in September 2025 (the scholarship award cannot be deferred to future year).
• If a scholarship recipient decides to defer their programme, they will no longer be eligible for the scholarship.
• Students seeking to study on a course solely delivered as a distance learning or online programme are not eligible for this scholarship.
• PGDip and PGCert programmes are not eligible.
• Successful recipients of the scholarships must have completed online registration and be ‘Normally Registered’ by 3 October (23:59 UK time/ GMT+1). Failure to do so will result in the withdrawal of the scholarship.
• Be domiciled in Malaysia.
• Applicants must be registered with MABECS, our local representatives in Malaysia, and have submitted their application with MABECS. Applications from other agents will not be accepted.
• Submit their scholarship application through MABECS by the deadline (30 June 2025).

This is a competitive scholarship; please ensure you have fulfilled the eligibility requirements outlined above.

To apply for the scholarship students will need to be registered with MABECS andhave accepted an offer from Queen Mary University of London by the scholarship deadline of 30 June 2025.
