The Dimitris N. Chorafas Foundation annually awards international prizes to doctoral students with outstanding research work who are expected to complete or have completed their doctoral thesis within the current calendar year.
The goal is to support outstanding young researchers by providing them with start-up capital for postgraduate research.
Since 1996, TU Berlin has been one of the Dimitris N. Chorafas Foundation's 21 partner universities worldwide. TUB is granted two prizes, provided that appropriate candidate nominations are submitted.
The TU Berlin is an active part of the international metropolis and the outstanding science location Berlin. Ideas for the future are developed here in the heart of the German capital.

2. Complete CV, including internships if any
3. List of Publications (only papers for which the candidate is the first author. All papers must be either published, in-press or accepted in peer-review journals)
4. Summary of research (up to one page only)
5. Candidate's personal note: “Why my research benefits humanity” (up to one page)
6. Letter of recommendation 1 (from the Ph.D. advisor/s. The salutation should be: Dear Members of the Board, ... )
7. Letter of recommendation 2 (The salutation should be: Dear Members of the Board, ...)
8. Selected abstracts of peer-reviewed published papers (up to 5 abstracts; no longer than ½ page each)
9. List of the statistically valid sample of candidates (Presenting 10-15 candidates that were considered, but not retained. The list should contain first and last name; faculty, or the field of studies; and thesis title)
