The Douglas Johnson Scholarship

Aim and Benefits of The Douglas Johnson Scholarship

The award provides £27,500 per year for a three year undergraduate programme and is subject to satisfactory academic progress. The award will be applied to cover tuition fees in the first instance, with remainder payable as maintenance.

If a student on a four year undergraduate programme receives this award, payments will be made pro rata, i.e. they will receive £20,625 for each of their four years of study.

Requirements for The Douglas Johnson Scholarship Qualification

Eligible candidates must:

• Be domiciled in the UK with Home fee status;
• Be in financial need
• Hold an offer of admission to UCL to study a full-time undergraduate degree in the department of History (including joint honours degree) for the 2025/26 intake.

Interview date, Process and Venue for The Douglas Johnson Scholarship

The criterion for awarding the scholarship is financial need and you will need to demonstrate this in the application.
