• This fellowship will provide a one-off payment of up to $15,000.

Requirements for University of Melbourne Lockie Fellowship Fellowship Qualification

To be eligible for this award, you must:

• be an established writer residing in Australia;
• be engaged in an original creative and/or critical work which can be a work in progress, a new work, or a work near completion, with the aim of advancing the study of literature in Australia; and,
• have a publishing record which can include books, chapters, articles or any other written works including online that are not self-published.

Interview date, Process and Venue for University of Melbourne Lockie Fellowship Fellowship

Eligible applicants will be assessed on how their project will best advance literature within Australia, including the project's literary merit and the research intentions of the applicant.

Conditions

Recipients are required to:

• accept the award online within 21 days;
• develop the dissemination and communication of research outcomes in consultation with an academic mentor;
• acknowledge the Faculty of Arts and the name of the fellowship on the imprints page when the creative work is published; and,
• submit a final report six weeks after the fellowship.

Documents Required for Application

Eligible applicants must complete the online application form including:

• a 300-500 word statement including details about the proposed work to be undertaken during the fellowship and how the support would positively impact your creative and/or critical work;
• a project and publication timeline;
• preferred dates for the mentorship support provided during the fellowship;
• a writing sample of no more than 10 pages;
• a two-page resume, including a current publication record; and,
• copy of proof of your Australian residency: the selection committee may request your original copy at a later date; and
• any other information which may assist the committee in making its decision.
