The Research Training Program (RTP) scholarships provide financial assistance to domestic and international postgraduate research students enrolled in or commencing a higher degree by research.

Aim and Benefits of Research Training Program (RTP)

• Annual Stipend: $41,753 per annum (2025 rate), indexed annually.
• Relocation Allowance: Up to $1,485 for travel to Sydney at the beginning and return travel after program completion.
• Thesis Allowance: Up to $420 for master’s and $840 for doctoral candidates for eligible production costs.
• Paid Leave: 20 days of recreation leave and 10 days of sick leave annually, with additional paid sick and parental leave available.

Requirements for Research Training Program (RTP) Qualification

You must:

• Be a commencing or enrolled domestic or international higher degree by research student,
• Have an outstanding record of academic achievement and research potential.
