UQ 2025 Howard and Gladys Sleath Scholarships

Applicatons are now open for the UQ 2025 Howard and Gladys Sleath Scholarship. Established in 1998 following Howard Sleath's bequest of 50% of his estate to the University of Queensland. Mr Howard Sleath was well-known to instrumentalists throughout Australia for the excellence of his craftsmanship and skill as a maker of stringed instruments. Mr Sleath gave the State of Queensland a string quartet of instruments to be kept under the supervision of the Head of the School of Music. The instruments were first demonstrated by the Mayne String Quartet at a concert to inaugurate the Howard Sleath Quartet of Instruments in 1974.

Requirements for Howard and Gladys Sleath Scholarships Qualification

You're eligible if you:

• Will be enrolled full-time in the first year of the Bachelor of Music (Honours).

Interview date, Process and Venue for Howard and Gladys Sleath Scholarships

This scholarship is awarded to the applicant showing greatest merit as demonstrated by audition.

Application Deadline

How to Apply

You're automatically assessed for the scholarship during your audition for the Bachelor of Music (Honours). This scholarship is awarded for outstanding auditions.
