The Center of Excellence Battery brings together all Group-wide activities related to battery technology. Within this organization, the Technology Development and Simulation department is responsible for the cross-brand technical advancement of battery cells and battery systems. In addition to optimizing technical performance parameters, a key focus is the continuous improvement of sustainability characteristics. This includes, in particular, the analysis and reduction of the CO? footprint as well as increasing transparency across the entire battery supply chain. As part of this internship, you will support the development of a structured knowledge management system for global battery supply chains. The objective is to create a clear and reliable wiki that provides quick insights into key raw materials, processes, and their impact on sustainability and carbon footprint. You will gain valuable insights into the strategic management of global battery supply chains, contribute to current sustainability and regulatory topics, and independently develop a knowledge system designed for long-term use. In addition, you will work closely with colleagues from the Technology, Procurement, and Sustainability functions.
Possible Tasks within this Role
- Building and structuring a knowledge wiki covering the most important battery supply chains (e.g., lithium, nickel, graphite, cathode and anode materials)
- Preparing and presenting complex value chain relationships (raw material extraction, refining, etc.) in a clear and understandable manner
- Analyzing and comparing processes, technologies, and production pathways in battery manufacturingIdentifying key factors influencing CO? footprint, costs, and sustainability
- Supporting the collection, evaluation, and structuring of data from internal and external sources
- Contributing to strategic topics related to battery supply chains and sustainability
- Creating clear and concise visualizations, including tables, charts, and decision-making overviews
