Wilson Center 2025 Agents of Change Youth Fellowship Program 2025

The Agents of Change Youth Fellowship is a professional program offered by the Wilson Center’s Middle East Program and Environmental Change and Security Program. This initiative seeks to empower emerging leaders from the MENA region who are committed to addressing climate change, water security, and peace. The 2025 fellowship focuses on water issues in the MENA region, highlighting the challenges of water insecurity, its connection to conflict dynamics, and its importance for regional stability and sustainability. The program includes a virtual seminar series and a capstone project, culminating in the publication of fellows’ research papers in a collected volume.

Aim and Benefits of Agents of Change Youth Fellowship Program

The benefits include:

  • Participation in a virtual seminar series featuring leading experts.
  • Development of a 3,000-word research paper on water issues in the MENA region.
  • In-person presentation of research at a final capstone convening.
  • Publication of fellows’ research papers in a collected volume.

Requirements for Agents of Change Youth Fellowship Program Qualification

The eligibility criteria include:

  • Applicants must be citizens of countries in the MENA region.
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree and 3 years of work experience in a relevant field, or a master’s degree with demonstrated interest in climate change, water, and peace, is required.
  • Applicants must be 35 years of age or younger at the time of submission.
  • Fellows can be located anywhere globally but must have reliable and consistent internet access for video conferences and meetings.

Interview date, Process and Venue for Agents of Change Youth Fellowship Program

Applicants are to submit the following documents:

  • Current resume or CV 
  • Cover letter
  • Completed application form (link at the top of this page)
  • Two letters of recommendation (please ask for letters to be sent directly to [email protected])
  • A short response (500 words maximum) to the following question: What is one strategy or approach you believe could effectively address the growing water insecurity in the Middle East and North Africa Your response may focus on a single country or consider a regional perspective.
