They are part of DEAPE's social scholarships, which share the same notice and selection process. Both scholarships aim to assist Unicamp students who live outside the cities and metropolitan regions of the University's campuses (Limeira, Piracicaba and Campinas), and who have difficulty paying for housing in these locations. If they are not considered for the Student Housing Program (PME), they can receive housing assistance to be able to pay for housing for themselves (BAM) or for their families (BAME), in the city where they study.

Unicamp undergraduate and graduate students who meet the requirements described in Deliberation CEPE-A-003/2012 and in this year's Social Scholarships notice , and who, in addition to not living and having financial difficulties to live in the cities of Unicamp campuses (Limeira, Piracicaba and Campinas) and in their metropolitan regions, have not obtained a place in the Student Housing Program (PME).
Once the application for social grants has been assessed and accepted, the number of available grants is distributed, until exhausted, to candidates with the lowest Socioeconomic Classification Index (CI) .
Registration for BAM consists of filling in data in the Social Grants area of ??the SIG System , where the documentation to be attached is also indicated (also detailed in the Social Grants notice ). Registration dates for newcomers and veterans are different: always check the calendar and the notice on the DEAPE website and in the SIG System .
