The Government of South Australia has established the Enabling Educator Excellence (E3) Scholarship for students commencing undergraduate or postgraduate initial teacher registration courses in 2025.

Flinders University is a public university in Adelaide, South Australia. Founded in 1966, it was named in honour of navigator Matthew Flinders, who explored and surveyed the South Australian coastline in the early 19th century. Aim and Benefits of Enabling Educator Excellence Scholarships (E3)

Each scholarship is valued at $5,000 subject to maintaining enrolment in an eligible course. Payments will be made in in a single instalment.

The scholarship is awarded for 1 year of full-time study. 


Enabling Educator Excellence Scholarships (E3) Courses


Requirements for Enabling Educator Excellence Scholarships (E3) Qualification

Scholarship applicants must:

  • Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or permanent humanitarian visa holder; and
  • Be commencing the first year of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at Flinders University in an initial teacher registration course that is accredited by the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia; and
  • Have a permanent home address in South Australia; and
  • Have not previously received this scholarship; and
  • Be able to demonstrate they meet one of the following applicant streams:
    • High ATAR or GPA (ATAR 80 or above including bonus points or GPA of 5.5); or
    • First Nations people (Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander); or
    • Women in STEM (enrolled in a major or minor that will enable them to teach STEM on completion of their degree); or
    • Men in primary school teaching (men undertaking a primary school education qualification). 

Interview date, Process and Venue for Enabling Educator Excellence Scholarships (E3)

Applicants will be ranked based on academic merit (ATAR or GPA). Preference may be given to full-time students.

No more than 50% of scholarships will be allocated to any one program stream. No more than 60% of the allocation will be provided to postgraduate students.

Selection of the candidate(s) will be made by a committee comprising representatives from the College of Education, Psychology and Social Work, the Office of Indigenous Strategy and Engagement and Student Administration Services.
