The Women’s University in Africa (WUA) is a private institution that was established in 2002 and granted a Charter by the Government of Zimbabwe in 2004 (Statutory Instrument 130/2004) with a mandate to address gender disparity and foster equity in university education. The University, through its department of Family and Health Sciences, has partnered with the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) in a collaborative research in the NIHR Global Health Research Unit on the Prevention and Management of Stillbirths and Neonatal Deaths in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.
