The SADC Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (SACREEE) is proud to launch the first edition of this entrepreneurship capacity-building programme, dedicated to advancing the careers of women energy entrepreneurs from the SADC region.?The initiative is led by the Global Women’s Network for the Energy Transition (GWNET) in collaboration with the?SADC Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (SACREEE), with financial support from the?Austrian Development Agency (ADA),?the operational unit of the?Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC).
The 6-months capacity-building programme seeks to empower women entrepreneurs or owners of an energy-related business to advance their businesses through expert and industry role models. The training is limited only to business soft-skill training and does not include technical technologies training.
This initiative aims to empower women-led entrepreneurs to drive sustainable energy solutions in the region. Women entrepreneurs in the areas of solar thermal, energy efficiency and productive use of energy will be given preferential consideration.?The capacity-building programme DOES NOT provide capital funding but facilitates enterprise financing through matchmaking and linking entrepreneurs with potential funders.
The SADC Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (SACREEE) was established with the objective of fostering a closer regional cooperation on the development of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, through coordination of projects based on renewable energy and energy efficiency.
