The Black Youth AI Fellowship is an 8-week virtual program designed to equip Black university students in Canada with real-world AI skills, mentorship, and a national network — all for free.
Whether you’re into business, science, design, or the arts — AI is transforming every field. You’ll learn new tools, build real-world projects, and gain the confidence to lead with AI.
You don’t need to know how to code. All you need is curiosity, creativity, and commitment to learn.
The Black Youth AI Fellowship is a free, national fellowship for Black post-secondary students who want to explore the power of artificial intelligence and gain job-ready digital skills.

No tech background needed — all you need is a computer, internet access and a willingness to learn.
Program Format
Length: 8 weeks
Dates: July 7 – August 29
Live Sessions: Once a week (120 minutes)
Extras: Weekly team office hours + curated case study readings
Each session includes:
Learning from an industry expert and Tribe facilitator
A group case study challenge tied to a real-world AI use case
Access to tools and support to help you succeed
Final Week: You'll wrap up with a national hackathon where you apply what you've learned to solve a creative AI challenge.
