Westpac Scholars Trust was established following a $100 million gift in celebration of the bank’s 200th anniversary in 2017. This was a truly altruistic endeavour by Westpac Group, who at the time, were the first corporate to make a philanthropic donation of this kind in the history of Australia.
The vision for this generous gift was to create a fund that would exclusively empower a new generation of leaders to create a brighter future for Australia by setting new benchmarks in research, innovation and social change.
Since awarding our first scholarship in 2015, Westpac Scholars Trust has invested over $40 million in over 740 Westpac Scholars.
