Flinders University Clare Burton Memorial Scholarship 2024

The Clare Burton Memorial Scholarship was established to honour and continue the work of Dr Clare Burton, a leading researcher, public sector administrator, academic, consultant and writer on employment equity. It is funded by the Clare Burton Memorial Fund, which is held by QUT. The gift aims to helps students complete research in women and equality in all spheres of endeavour including (but not limited to) employment, education, health, communications, engineering, and science.

About Flinders University

Flinders University is a public university in Adelaide, South Australia. Founded in 1966, it was named in honour of navigator Matthew Flinders, who explored and surveyed the South Australian coastline in the early 19th century. Clare Burton Memorial Scholarship

Aim and Benefits of Clare Burton Memorial Scholarship

The student will receive a $10,000 one-off payment as a research allowance.

Requirements for Clare Burton Memorial Scholarship Qualification

You must be one of the following:

• An Australian citizen (including dual citizens)
• A permanent resident of Australia
• A permanent humanitarian visa holder
• A New Zealand citizen.

You must also:

• be a current research student at an Australian university, enrolled either full- or part-time in a research degree (i.e. Doctor of Philosophy, Professional Doctorate, or Master of Philosophy)
• be pursuing research where the major piece of work is focussed on gender equity. This encompasses women and equality in all spheres of endeavour including (but not limited to) employment, education, health, communications, engineering and science
• have completed at least the first milestone of your research degree.
