This year, in partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, the University of Edinburgh will be offering five scholarships for students, across China, India, Nigeria, Turkey and Vietnam applying for an eligible one-year postgraduate Masters programme for the 2023-2024 academic session.
GREAT Scholarships 2023, launched by the British Council's Study UK campaign together with a number of other UK universities, supports students from 18 countries to access world-class UK higher education opportunities. The Study UK campaign is offering 150 scholarships from UK universities to students across 18 countries around the world.
The scholarship programme offers financial support of a minimum of £10,000 to students pursuing one year postgraduate study in the UK. Students can apply for courses in a range of subjects, at the 41 institutions across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Each scholarship will award an amount of £10,000 which will be deducted from your tuition fees and will be tenable for one academic year.
At the University of Edinburgh, the Scholarships will be awarded to nationals and residents of China, India, Nigeria,Turkey and Vietnam who are accepted for admission on a full-time basis for an eligible one-year on campus postgraduate Masters programme of study. The tables below set out the eligibility criteria per programme and the applicable scholarship application which can be located within MyEd (further information can be found under Applying).
The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit. Candidates must have, or expect to obtain, the overseas equivalent of a UK first-class honours degree.
Successful candidates will be notified by mid June 2023.
Successful candidates must give written consent to be contacted by the British Council for pre-departure briefings, programme reporting, evaluation and promotion for future programmes after issuance of the Scholarships and further promote GREAT Scholarships through their own channels. Promotional material must be provided to the British Council for approval prior to publication.

In order to gain access to the scholarship application system, applicants must have applied for admission to the University of Edinburgh. Please note that, following the submission of an application for admission, it can take up to five working days for all system checks to be completed and for access to be granted.
