ARIES is awaiting confirmation of funding under the BBSRC-NERC DLA award scheme, which is expected shortly. Funding for this studentship is subject to this confirmation and UKRI terms and conditions.
These scholarships include a doctoral stipend (equivalent to the Research Councils UK National Minimum Doctoral Stipend, to be announced –previous 2024/25 rate is £19,237.), tuition fees at the home rate and access to further research funding.
If you are applying as an international candidate, Kent will waive the difference between Home and International fees.

Interviews
There will be a two-stage interview process. If you are shortlisted, the first round of interviews will take place at the end of January 2025. Successful nominees will then participate in the second round of interviews, with the ARIES panel in February 2025.
The ARIES studentship competition is now open for entry in October 2025.
