Skye Cambridge Scholarship is available to Masters and PhD applicants from South Africa, in any academic subject. It is tenable at any College.
Offered in partnership with the Skye Foundation.
The Cambridge Commonwealth, European & International Trust was established on 1 August 2013 from the merger of the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust and the Cambridge Overseas Trust. These were established as charities by the University of Cambridge in the 1980s in order to provide financial support for international students on degree courses at Cambridge. The Trust awards approximately 500 scholarships annually, and supports between 1,100 and 1,400 students in residence each year from 85 countries across the world. Candidates must be nominated to the Skye Foundation by faculty deans at South African universities (the Skye Foundation does not accept applications directly from candidates), and must then apply to Skye by the published deadline. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by Skye.
No award will be made to an applicant who has not already gained admission.
Successful candidates will be notified by Skye of regulations that require them to return to South Africa after the completion of their degree course in Cambridge, and will be required to provide biannual progress reports to Skye
Applicants should hold a first degree from a recognised university
Candidates must apply for admission to the University of Cambridge before the funding deadline specific to their course (please refer to the Postgraduate Course Directory).
